Recently I've been working on a logo for my friend Louise's Baking business "The Magic Spatula". I knew from the off this would be a really fun, quick commission as Louise was a dream client who told me straight away exactly what she wanted and how she wanted it to look. I also think in hindsight it worked really well because Louise knows me and my work and obviously asked me to do the commission as she thought my aesthetic style works well with the aesthetic style of her baking. We both agreed that pastel colours would suit her business best and I can up with this design (as well as a few others which didn't make the cut) in a few different colour ways. Louise ended up choosing the one on the blue back ground which she now uses for all her branding, such as her Instagram icon and stickers on her packaging.
This project has reignited my love for simple design and quick briefs, I really miss doing more of these like we did in first year! Its also shown me that it's really fulfilling to work with likeminded people which I'm aware won't happen all the time in the creative world post uni. However it's encouraged me to make more connections with people who's work and businesses I like and identify with, and if they keep seeing work like this commission for Louise, maybe they'll ask me to do something similar.
