I was asked by Girl Gang Leeds to design their new merch T-shirts to be debuted at their winter market event at Left Bank. I was so excited to start this as it was pretty much a dream commission as it involved text, character design and lots of gal power. I started pretty much straight away and we ended up going with the first design I showed them as Kaz who pitched me the idea had described to me pretty much exactly what they wanted. There was a few changes after this in terms of type and spacing, but as they wanted to get the t-shirts printed before the event we were working to a pretty short turn around. Working with Girl Gang on this was a really smooth, enjoyable project which made me realise how lucky I am to be asked to do things like this. I feel that not only is it a great organisation to be involved in and the people are lovely, its also a project that I feel fits within the kind of work I like make. In the future I'll endeavour to take part in more projects like this as it was really enjoyable and a great learning curve, particularly in terms of simplifying my designs so that they would look good screen printed.
